HOW LONG DOES THE LIVE AUDITION DAY LAST? The audition lasts anywhere between 2 to 6 hours depending upon the number of people in attendance. The dance portion of the audition takes approximately two hours and the vocal/acting section takes about 3 minutes per person. However, once students sing their songs and monologues, after the dance audition, they are free to go.
ARE MY CHANCES BETTER IF I ATTEND A LIVE AUDITION? No, many students are accepted through taped auditions. The same standards are applied to both taped auditions and live auditions. There is no advantage of one over the other.
WHO SHOULD WRITE MY LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION? Letters of recommendation may come from any instructor who has worked closely with the student, such as teachers at school, college professors and performance instructors.
WHEN WILL I FIND OUT IF I AM ACCEPTED TO BTP? Acceptance letters are sent almost immediately after the completion of each audition. There is also the possibility that students will be placed on a wait list. Wait list students could be offered a position with BTP as early as April and as late as June.
The 22nd season of the Broadway Theatre Project begins July 8, 2012 and ends on July 29, 2012.
