Ken Alan was featured as “The Spirit of Fosse” in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Fosse where, on the show’s PBS broadcast and DVD release, he performs with Ben Vereen.
Ken also appeared in the Broadway production of A Chorus Line (Bobby) as well as the first national tours of Fosse, Chicago, and Grease. His regional credits include Irving Berlin’s White Christmas (Boston, San Francisco), Fosse (Gateway Playhouse), West Side Story (The MUNY, St. Louis), Me and My Girl (Goodspeed Opera, CT), and Forever Plaid (The Mark II Dinner Theatre, FL). His television and film appearances include: Dance In America: From Broadway: Fosse with Ben Vereen and Ann Reinking (PBS’ Great Performances), Good Morning America, Broadway on Broadway, Ellen, The View, Regis and Kelly, The Tony Awards, and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
His director/choreographer credits include: Chicago (Show Palace Theatre, FL), Smokey Joe’s Cafe (Quincy Music Theatre, FL), An Evening of Music and Dance: Bach to Broadway (Tallahassee Ballet, FL) and numerous collaborations with Broadway Theatre Project.
Ken has had the privilege of learning from masters such as Ann Reinking, Gwen Verdon, Gregory Hines, Ben Vereen, Chet Walker, Randy Skinner, John Parks, and Baayork Lee. Ken has also had the pleasure of teaching for Steps on Broadway, Broadway Dance Center (New York), the Southern Academy of Ballet Arts and the Tallahassee Ballet (Tallahassee, FL).
Ken is a former Mr. Dance of Florida, a recipient of the Ruth Eckerd Hall Scholarship Award (presented by Twyla Tharp), the Presidential Scholarship Award (presented by President Bill Clinton) and a member of a Tony Award-nominated cast (A Chorus Line - Best Revival).
He is honored to be an alumnus of Broadway Theatre Project and a member of its resident alumni faculty.
