Sharon Poulos brings to Broadway Theatre Project a wealth of business, technical and project management experience. For 26 years, she worked with customers and teams worldwide as a software developer, designer and technical support specialist for one of the most well-known data and technology companies in the world, IBM. With the majority of her career spent at one of the U.S.’s true legacy corporations, Sharon was exposed to a great number of evolved business management practices. It was through this experience that she developed a keen adeptness at running the project management process, which she is excited to share with us this year.
She also brings experience in human resources and customer service and looks forward to speaking and meeting with the parents of our prospective Apprentices as well as of our eventual 2012 Class throughout the coming year. (Don’t tell anyone, but she’s a mother too!).
Although ensconced in the business world, Sharon has had nothing but music in her life almost round-the-clock. Her husband is a semi-professional composer who plays banjo, harmonica and guitar, the latter of which he possesses more than 30 instruments. Her sister-in-law has spent a life in showbiz. And the two siblings emanated from a father who could play thousands of songs on the piano, all by ear.
So, Sharon is particularly happy to be joining the new BTP team as it allows her the opportunity to marry her business management experience with her love of music and performance, in addition to building upon her interest in working with young people and helping them to excel in their careers.
